Rodney is a self taught, passionate countryman at heart. He began painting en plein air landscapes of the local countryside in Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, Initially in watercolours and later in oils. His aim is to paint in an honest, impressionistic style. Still life flower paintings also form part of his repertoire.

He lived and worked in the Tarn region of the south of France for five years, exhibiting in the local galleries of Cordes-Sur-Ciel.

Rodney gained much from his friendship and painting trips, with the renowned artist, John Lines RSMA.

Recently he had a watercolour painting accepted for The People’s Landscape Art Exhibition at Claydon, National Trust. He is a participant in the South Northants Art group and has exhibited in recent SNA Art Trails.
